POLICIES

Welcome to Hotel Lanesboro! Our goal is to make your stay stress-free and enjoyable. Each guest reservation is important to us, and we have policies in place to ensure the comfort, safety, and consideration of all our guests. Please take a moment to review and consider these policies as you plan your stay with us.

Cancellations

  • Your 50% deposit made upon booking will be refunded (minus a small processing fee) for cancellations received via email at least 7 days prior to your arrival date. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival will result in forfeiture of the deposit. Cancellations are not confirmed until you receive a reply from Hotel Lanesboro.

Reservations & Payments​

  • All bookings are completed online, and a credit card is required to hold each reservation. We do not accept cash or checks. For questions or group inquiries, please email us via our contact page.

  • Maximum of 2 people per room, no exceptions.

  • The remaining balance will be automatically charged to the credit card on file on the morning of your arrival. If you would like to use a different card for your final payment, please call us in advance to provide the new card information.

  • All rates are subject to Minnesota state sales tax and Fillmore County lodging taxes. Taxes will be clearly itemized on your reservation—no hidden fees.

Minimum Stay​

  • A 2-night minimum is required on weekends. Friday and Saturday must be booked together (no Saturday-only check-ins).

  • Occasionally, we may offer single-night weekend stays, usually during the off-season or if a room remains available a few days before the weekend. Guests interested in a single-night stay may contact us to join our waitlist; we will reach out if a one-night option becomes available.

Check-In & Check Out​

  • Self Check-In: After 3:00 PM. Guests will receive unique door entry codes for the front door and their room. The codes are active at check-in time.

  • Check-Out: 10:00 AM. Guests are expected to check out on time. Late departures disrupt our cleaning schedule and affect subsequent guests.

  • Late Check-Out: Guests who remain in their room past 10:00 AM without prior arrangement will be charged $20 per half-hour on the card on file. This fee is strictly enforced to maintain the quality and timeliness of our service.

  • Early Check-In or Late Check-Out Requests: These are rarely granted and must be arranged in advance. Additional fees may apply depending on availability.

Bicycle Storage​

  • ABSOLUTELY NO BIKES allowed inside the hotel. 

  • We provide a 10’x10’ locked storage shed on a first-come, first-served basis, as well as a backyard bike rack. We cannot guarantee shed space for all guests. Learn more about bicycle storage in our FAQs. The shed has outlets for charging e-bikes. It isn't the "prettiest" set-up, but it has works!

Children & Pets​

  • Children 14 years and older are welcome. Please be respectful of our guests seeking a child-free experience.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children under 14 due to noise considerations.

  • We are so sorry, but NO pets allowed.

Smoking​

  • To ensure a safe and odor-free environment, smoking of tobacco, marijuana, or any illegal substances is strictly prohibited. This includes e-cigarettes, vape pens, CBD, hookahs, incense, cigars, and essential oil diffusers. Violations may result in fines.

Damages​

  • Guests are responsible for any damage or excessive mess caused to hotel property during their stay. This includes walls, floors, furniture, fixtures, linens, and decor. Guests will be charged for repairs or replacements, and the hotel reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for such damages.​

Visitors​

  • Registered guests must contact management before hosting visitors. Management reserves the right to ask visitors to leave if their presence impacts other guests’ enjoyment, creates a liability, or poses a risk. Approved visitors must depart by 10:00 PM.​

Quiet Time​​

  • Quiet hours are 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM. Please be considerate of other guests, as noise carries in the lounge. Guests who are disruptive or destructive may be asked to leave without a refund. Any damages will be charged to the guest’s card, with amounts determined by management.

Booking over the phone​​

  • By booking a room over the phone and providing your credit card, you agree to the hotel’s policies. This creates a binding contract, and guests are responsible for following all rules and paying the stated price for their stay.
